Glue
The right adhesive and enough cure time make joints that outlast the wood around them. This section compares wood glues, explains dry and cure times, and covers super glue and clean-up.
Wood glue types: Titebond 1 vs 2 vs 3 and using Gorilla Glue.
Dry & cure times: Elmerβs, PVA, PVC, super glue, and E6000.
Super glue & removal: how super glue works, dissolving super glue, and ungluing wood.
For where glue fits in a build, see our projects & tips guide.
Which Titebond should I use? Titebond I for interior, II for water-resistant/outdoor, and III for waterproof or exterior joints.
How long does wood glue take to dry? Clamp for about 30β60 minutes and allow 24 hours for a full-strength cure before stressing the joint.
