Where to Buy Bendy Plywood: Real Sources, Sizes and Prices

Bendy plywood is sold by lumber and panel suppliers, a few woodworking retailers and online sellers, but it is rarely a shelf item, and the same panel goes by several names. This guide lists the sources we could actually check on 2026-09-30, the sizes and thicknesses they publish, what small pieces cost per square foot, and how to avoid buying a kerfed MDF panel when you wanted plywood.

Where Can You Buy Bendy Plywood?

Best Small-Project Bendy Ply Pick

Flexible Bendy Birch Thin Stock from Koskisen, 1/16 in (1.5 mm), 12 x 24 in

A real bendable birch plywood panel you can order by the piece, cut so the grain runs parallel to the shortest side for the tightest bend. Useful for curved small parts, models and trim before you commit to a full sheet.

  • Best for: small curved parts, jigs, models and laser-cut or hand-cut projects
  • Why we picked it: it ships in a small size, so you can test a bend without buying a 4 x 8 sheet
  • Main drawback: it is only 1/16 in thick and about $16 per square foot on 2026-09-30, far dearer than a full sheet

There are four realistic routes: a panel wholesaler or lumber supplier, a big-box store that stocks a bending panel, a woodworking specialty retailer, or an online seller. Full 4 x 8 sheets come mostly from the first two. Small pieces for a single project come mostly from the last two. Packard Forest Products says its stocked bending plywood is made in the United States and distributed across the country, and it takes orders by web form or phone. Columbia Forest Products sells through wholesale distributors and says a Home Depot store locator is available on its product page.

We did not verify any store’s shelf stock. Home Depot and Lowe’s block automated checks, and we did not try to get around that, so treat every store as a phone call, not a promise.

Bendy Plywood, Wiggle Wood, Bendy Board and Kerfkore: What Each One Is

Shoppers often lump these together, and it costs them money. Two are true bending plywood. The others are engineered panels that bend a different way, and they behave differently when you finish and fasten them.

The practical difference: bending plywood keeps its solid veneer face and edge, while grooved MDF shows its grooves on the back and needs a covering. Rockler describes its Neatform sheet as ready for finishing, and Columbia says its panels are meant to be covered with laminate or veneer, so plan the surface before you order.

Lumber suppliers and panel wholesalers

This is where full sheets live. A supplier that sells to cabinet shops is the best bet, because bending panels are a cabinet and millwork product. Packard’s page lists four thicknesses and three sheet sizes, and Columbia’s lists 3/8 in as standard with other thicknesses by request. Ask whether they sell to the public, whether there is a minimum order, and whether they will deliver a 4 x 8 sheet to a residence or hold it for pickup. Those policies are not on the pages we read, so they are questions to ask, not facts.

Home centers

Columbia points buyers to a Home Depot store, but a national brand page does not tell you what your local store has this week. If you go this route, phone first and give the brand and thickness. Do not rely on a store’s website showing an item unless it shows your store’s own count.

Woodworking specialty stores

Rockler sells bendy MDF in a 24 x 48 in sheet, and its listing keywords use the phrase bendy board. That is a useful stand-in when your project can take a painted or covered surface, but it is not veneer plywood. For a hardwood face you generally need a plywood supplier.

Online sellers

Amazon carries small pieces of flexible birch and the Neatform and Kerfkore panels. Etsy sellers also list bendable plywood strips, according to search results we saw, though we did not read individual shop pages. Online is the easiest way to buy a test piece, but it is the most expensive way to buy area, as the next section shows.

What Bendy Plywood Costs Per Square Foot

Full-sheet prices change by region and supplier, and none of the supplier pages we read printed one, so we are not quoting any. What we can compare are the small-piece prices we saw on 2026-09-30, with the per-square-foot math worked out.

ProductSizePrice seen 2026-09-30AreaCost per sq ft
Koskisen flexible birch, 1/16 in12 x 24 in$31.952.0 sq ft$15.98
Koskisen flexible birch, 1/16 in18 x 24 in$47.953.0 sq ft$15.98
Neatform Bendy MDF, 1/4 in (Rockler)24 x 48 in$34.998.0 sq ft$4.37
Kerfkore Bendable Panel, 1/2 in (Amazon)7 x 22 in$116.401.07 sq ft$108.88

The lesson is that buying by the piece makes sense for a test bend or a small part, and stops making sense for anything covering real area. The Kerfkore figure looks extreme because it is sold as a small specialty panel, not a sheet. Amazon also listed a Lauan bending plywood panel, 3/8 x 24 x 47 in, at $29.75 with a lead-time status rather than in-stock, which would work out to about $3.80 per square foot if it ships. Availability there can change, so check before planning around it.

Check the Grain Direction Before You Buy

The most common ordering mistake is buying the wrong orientation. Bending plywood is built with the veneer layers running one way, and Packard says that single direction is what gives the panel its bendability. Columbia sells the same panel in two forms, 4 x 8 long grain and 8 x 4 cross grain, and says the panel flexes in both orientations. So a sheet marked 4 x 8 is not the same as one marked 8 x 4.

The Koskisen listing gives the same idea in small form. It says each panel is cut with the grain running parallel to the shortest side to ensure maximum bending radius. Before you pay, look at which way you need to curve the part, and match that to the grain direction the seller states. If the listing does not say, ask.

Minimum Bend Radius: What Suppliers Publish

SupplierProductPublished figureWording
Columbia Forest ProductsRadius Bending Plywood, 3/8 in12 inMinimum radius; may flex smaller but needs significant force
Packard Forest ProductsBending plywoodAbout 15 inTightest diameter; after that the face starts cracking

Notice that one says radius and the other says diameter. A 15 in diameter is a 7.5 in radius, so the two figures cannot be compared directly, and they describe different products and thicknesses. That is why we recommend asking for an offcut. Tell the seller your radius, and do not assume a published figure applies to a different thickness or face species.

Questions to Ask Before You Order

  • Which way does the grain run on this sheet? Confirm it matches your bend direction.
  • What thickness and how many plies? Columbia offers 2-ply and 3-ply constructions.
  • What is the tightest radius you will stand behind? Give your actual radius.
  • Is the face meant to be exposed? Columbia says its panels are designed for covering with laminate or veneer.
  • Is there a minimum order or delivery fee? Sheet goods are awkward and often carry freight charges.
  • Can I buy a small offcut to test? A 12 x 24 in test piece costs far less than a mistake on a sheet.

When Bendy Plywood Is the Wrong Choice

If you only need a gentle curve on a few parts, or a tight curve that bending plywood cannot hold, other methods may fit better. Our guide to laminating curved wood covers building a curve from thin layers, and bending marine plywood covers kerf cutting and other ways to curve standard sheets. For a general comparison, see how to bend wood. If your part is trim, how to curve molding is the more direct guide. For thin sheet stock in craft sizes, see our page on Hobby Lobby plywood, and for Baltic birch in standard thicknesses see 1/4 in Baltic birch plywood.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Home Depot sell bendy plywood?

Columbia Forest Products says its Radius Bending Plywood is available through wholesale distributors or a Home Depot store, and it offers a locator on its site. Stock differs by store and we could not check store inventory, because Home Depot and Lowe’s block automated checks. Call your store and ask for Columbia radius bending plywood by name.

What is bendy plywood called?

Packard Forest Products lists the same type of panel under several names: bendable plywood, Curve-Ply, Flexply, Wacky Wood, Wiggle wood and bending plywood. Searching each name can turn up different sellers.

How tight can bendy plywood bend?

Columbia lists a minimum radius of 12 in for its 3/8 in panel, and says it may flex smaller but will need significant force. Packard says the tightest diameter it can achieve is around 15 in, after which the face starts cracking. Those figures use different measures and different products, so test a sample of your own panel.

Is Kerfkore plywood?

No. The Amazon listing we read describes the Kerfkore Bendable Panel as particleboard with laminate on one side. It bends because of how it is cut, not because of its veneer layers, so it is a different product from bending plywood.

Can you use bendy plywood outdoors?

Not according to Columbia. It says its bending panels are meant to be covered with laminate, paper-backed veneers or other thick surfaces, and are not intended for structural or exterior use.

Conclusion

To buy bendy plywood, start with a panel supplier or a distributor for full sheets, ask specifically about grain direction, and use a small test piece to confirm your radius before you buy more. For a single small part, ordering a 12 x 24 in piece is cheaper overall, even though the per-square-foot price is high. Always confirm price and stock with the seller, because everything here reflects what we could read on 2026-09-30.
